See Your New Smile Before You Start Cosmetic Dentistry

Digital imaging has long been used to show patients what they will look like after plastic surgery. Now you can use this technology to see your new smile before you start cosmetic dentistry.

When you have a consultation for cosmetic dentistry with Dr. Goldy he'll take a set of "before" photos. Most new patients are interested in improving the color, size, shape, alignment and/or the spacing of their teeth. They may want to have work done on the entire smile, or perhaps only the strictly their upper teeth in the esthetic zone (the ones that show when you smile).

The first photo is either a head shot/portrait and/or a close up of the teeth while you are smiling. This is where the art comes in. The photos are submitted to artists who are highly trained in digital imaging and computer graphic programs such as Photoshop.

Dr. Goldy gives them detailed instructions based on his interview with you and his recommendations for how the smile will be changed. Within a few days we have the "after" photos for you to view.

Often Dr. Goldy also takes preliminary impressions of the teeth so that along with the photographs, we have a model of your teeth constructed to appear just like the photo.

With these tools, we can take a lot of the guesswork out of the cosmetic dentistry and provide a final result that you help us create. And it allows us to have an excellent foundation to provide to our dental technician/ceramicist as a guide to fabricating the new crowns and/or veneers.
